In 2007 the Martin Jr. Larson II Foundation was created to perpetuate the remembrance of Marty and celebrate his life.
ABOUT OUR BELOVED SON…
Marty was born on August 26th 1977 to the proud parents of Dale and Sharon Larson. He was a very fun and active young man as well as one of the most giving persons around. We don’t just say this as proud parents, but anyone that had the privilege to know him, we are sure would say the same. He had a tremendous smile that lit up a room. It was catchy. He tended to lean towards the people that were not as strong as he, and always had his hands in many things at once. The funny thing is, he was good at everything he put his mind to. Marty loved to draw, loved to create, loved kids, loved his work, but most of all loved to be with his family and friends.
We had a family owned construction business where Marty, Dale Jr., and Erik (Marty’s 2 younger brothers) all worked. They were all very lucky to work together and like any family, there were both good days and bad. Sometimes problems on the job would be carried home and that would lead to some tension. But all in all as we reflect on those years, that’s what made our family even stronger. Oh, how we would give anything to have those days back again. Its family time together that is what is truly important in life.
In May of 2006, all our lives suddenly changed when Marty was diagnosed with Lymphoma. Looking back, he had such amazing strength going through what he endured. Somehow he tried to make it as easy as he could on all of us that love him. A true angel in disguise.
Sadly, he lost the battle and passed away at the young age of 29 on November 14th of 2006. With the help of family and friends we have created this foundation to help donate to the American Cancer Society, the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Cruedtzfeldt Jakob Disease Foundation. We also help local families that are battling cancer, lupus, MS and any other devastating diseases the best way we can. Please visit our link about our scholarship program as well.
The Marty Larson Foundation has no employees and all the funds are used for charity. We hope to make this effort a success. We thank you and gratefully appreciate your support.
